“We don’t allow dog fighting, why do we allow fighting breeds?”

RE: Pit-bulls and Fighting Breeds used as service dogs.

Dear (Senator / U.S. Represenative)

I suggest that the ADA be re-written to defer to State Law and contain the following changes

  • Define which breeds can be used as “Service Animals” as defined by Professional service dog trainers.
  • Make all bona fide “Service Animals” wear an identifying vest, disk or harness.
  • Forbid the use of all fighting breeds as “service”dogs including: Akita, American Pit-bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier (U.K. variety) Bull Terrier, Cane Corso, Dog Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, Kuvasz, Pit-Bull Terrier, Presa Canario, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, or Tosa Inu or any dog with one grandparent of these breeds as service animals.
  • Only certified trained dogs may be defined as service animals
  • State and municipal laws must be obeyed.

Sincerely yours,

(your name)
